For 21 years now, St. John Fisher College has participated in collegiate rugby with many surrounding schools in the NYS Rugby Conference. Since the 1999 St. John Fisher King's Men's Rugby team took the team to States, no team has been able to make it to playoffs...until this year. The 2011 Fisher Kings went .500 this season with a 2-2 record and got a bid into NY State Playoffs. This was a huge accomplishment for the Men's team since the team has also not even won a game in almost 4 years. The team lost their first game to University of Rochester, then they came back with a big win against Alfred University, then lost their third match against Brockport, and lastly, won their final match against Canisius College. The team lost their playoff match 12-7 but almost tied the match in the final seconds. It was a great year for the Kings and from here, they look to expand the club as well as its members to have an even more successful season next Fall. So if you are interested, the team would LOVE to hear from you! You can contact me, the President of the club (ww04971@sjfc.edu) or even check out our awesome facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/groups/199745036731177/

Hope the year goes smooth and until next time,

Bill Walter
