11/27/12

Today I had a big project due for a class. We are holding a Social Justice Fair next week and today half the class had to present their project. We all have a big tri-fold poster and explained to the class about the social justice issue we looked into. It was really cool because you don’t hear about a lot of these issues commonly. Students presented on English as a second language students and why they so often struggle, the effects of depression on kids and how common it is, the level of stereotyping that some students feel in urban school districts, and all sorts of issues. We are all Education majors so most of them were focused on school issues, but it was really interesting and important to learn about these social justice issues so that we can help create a better future when we are a part of the community.
