The Visit of a Lifetime

With summer in full throttle, there is a great place you can go for a visit! And no, I am not talking about Disney World; I’m talking about the Fisher campus! With July beginning this week Fisher will be offering additional visit opportunities to our wonderful 154 acre campus.

Two of the events I will be working all summer long include Summer Institute and Campus Information Sessions. Summer Institute is offered every Tuesday beginning July 13th- August 14th. The Summer Institute program at Fisher is a free one-day seminar designed to assist motivated students in the college selection process. Each Summer Institute program covers the following topics:

• Charting a challenging high school experience
• The college selection process
• What colleges look for in an applicant
• Financial aid and scholarship search
• Interviewing techniques
• Tips on the college essay or personal statement

I will also be working the different summer Information Sessions! Information Sessions are typically designed for high school students of senior and junior year status. Each Information Session includes a campus tour and an overview of our College offerings, including Admissions and Financial Aid. Information Sessions are available this summer as follows:

• Select Mondays at 10am
• Select Wednesdays at 2pm
• Select Fridays at 10am

Reading about colleges and doing research online is always a great way to find a school of interest, but visiting a campus is really what puts things into perspective. I still remember my first campus visit to Fisher (props to Miss Kaylee Kramer who's still one of our current tour guides!)
